The US is ramping up the pressure on Australia to drop Huawei from 5G projects to the point where the leader of the free world is now making threats to downgrade intelligence ties.

Meanwhile, Australian telecommunications legislation dubbed the ‘anti-Huawei law' takes effect in September this year with provisions to address any concerns about companies that are involved in future projects in the country.

The software hosting repository GitHub was totally inaccessible for five minutes last Wednesday evening US time, following what is claimed to be the biggest distributed denial of service attack ever recorded.

Even though Google's own Drive competes with Dropbox, the two companies are collaborating to "provide users with native access to Dropbox and G Suite functionality".

The European Union has tightened the screw on online companies, including Google, Facebook and Twitter, giving them an hour from notification to remove terrorist content which is posted on their platforms.

As for Google, the self-proclaimed champion of diversity, its giant subsidiary YouTube has been hit with a lawsuit alleging that it stopped employing males of white and Asian descent in 2017 because they did not help the company reach its desired diversity quotas.
