Dear friend, We just received a report about another devastating earthquake that struck southern Turkey just a few hours ago. While the immediate damage is too early to evaluate, many experts are concerned about an imminent aftershock in the State of Israel. The civil defense agency in Israel recently issued the following statement on their Facebook page: “A strong earthquake is expected to occur in the State of Israel, which will cause a mass disaster accompanied by thousands of dead and injured and extensive destruction of buildings and infrastructure”. Of course, we hope and pray for the best but it is important to prepare for every scenario. Though it is impossible to know when this disaster could strike, there are patterns that allow experts to predict different scenarios and their severity. Therefore, we at Zaka Tel Aviv take a proactive approach by engaging in drills and advanced training to be prepared for the aftershock in the State of Israel.
