Find the latest on Updraft. A juror selected Monday for the Derek Chauvin trial brought the total chosen to 14, enough for a jury of 12 plus two alternates. The court may end up picking as many as 16 jurors. The trial is on a path to start on time with opening statements expected March 29. The person chosen Monday, described by the court as a white woman in her 20s, said she’s discussed the case with family members but that her decision on a verdict would not affect her family relationships. The state marked something of a milestone today — a good one this time. Health officials said they had zero new reports of deaths due to COVID-19, the first time that's happened since April 13. But there are some clouds on the horizon: The seven-day rolling average for new cases has risen about 50 percent in the last two weeks, up to 1,175 now -- the state actually reported about 1,152 new cases just for Monday.
