Dear Customer, The Queen’s Jubilee weekend was a wonderful celebration which saw millions of us enjoy the very best of British food and drink. Best sellers at Aldi included our in-season British strawberries, Specially Selected All Butter Scones, and our Traditional Cornish Clotted Cream. The Jubilee allowed us to look back with nostalgia, but also to the future and reflect on the importance of people who we depend on. At Aldi, we work closely with British farmers and producers to provide the very best products for you to enjoy. We value their partnership and are committed to helping them succeed. That’s why our entire core range of fresh meat and milk is from British, Red Tractor-approved farms and we buy fresh produce from hundreds of British growers. I am delighted that our support has been given an official seal of approval. Today, it’s been announced that Aldi has, for the eighth year, been named the highest-rated supermarket for the treatment of suppliers by the Groceries Code Adjudicator, the regulator for our sector.* What does this mean? It shows that we treat suppliers fairly. It is an indication of the value and importance we place on working in partnership with British producers, and it underlines our commitment to being a responsible business. Now, more than ever, our domestic farmers and food and drink producers need support, so I want to thank you for shopping with Aldi. As the UK’s leading discounter, we are of course also fully committed to doing everything we can to keep the cost of groceries as low as possible. We do this by improving efficiencies, while paying our suppliers a fair price and in passing efficiency savings onto you at the till in the form of low prices for great quality products. Best wishes, Giles Hurley CEO – Aldi UK and IRE |
