| Dear John,
The band have released a banging new track, 'Atomic City' just hours before opening night of their U2:UV shows at Sphere in Las Vegas — a celebration of their seminal 1991 album Achtung Baby in the massive, state-of-the-art multimedia Sphere. Listen here
"It's a love song to our audience," Bono says. "'Where you are is where I'll be'."
Produced by long-time U2 collaborators Jacknife Lee and Steve Lillywhite, 'Atomic City' drops ahead of the band's run of 25 Las Vegas shows between now and December 16. The song is a 3.5-minute homage to the magnetic spirit of '70s post-punk with a nod to Blondie. The 'Atomic City' video captures U2's late-night surprise performance of the track just last week along Fremont Street in 'old Las Vegas' — the same spot where Bono, Edge, Adam, and Larry filmed the iconic video for 'I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For' more than 36 years ago. |
