Frustrated: Five people were shot, one fatally, outside grocery store in rural St. Charles Parish the other night. A frustrated Sheriff Greg Champagne thinks it’s part of a wave of violence and fears there is more ahead unless people start talking.
Life of service: You might have seen the stories about the World War II vet who thought his body would be donated to medical science but instead wound up on a dissecting table before a paying audience. Long before that ghastly event, David Saunders led a life of service, which is how his family wants him to be remembered. Speaking of veterans, today is a day to honor them. There was a big Veterans Day celebration in St. Bernard Parish.
Call us . . .: If free agent wide received Odell Beckham Jr. doesn’t end up wearing the Black and Gold it sure won’t be because Saints players didn’t make a pitch. Check out Amie Just’s story.
Season’s greetings: Ready or not, the holidays are here. And photographer Max Becherer has the proof in this photo gallery of the decorations going up in Jackson Square. Whatcha think: Too soon? Or right on time?
