Amazon ends plan to build HQ2 in N.Y. Amazon released a statement Thursday saying it would scrap plans to build half of its second headquarters in Long Island City in New York amid objections from local lawmakers opposed to a package of nearly $3 billion in state and city incentives. The company will continue plans to build its HQ2 in northern Virginia and will not reopen the search for another location "at this time," the statement said. The new report "Life Inside the Perimeter: Understanding the Modern CISO" states that approximately 17% of cybersecurity workers are using drugs or alcohol to help cope with on-the-job stress, including the growing need for more cyberexperts. Survey: 41% of workers would take pay cut for more wellness Results of the 2019 Staples Workplace Survey showed 41% of workers said they would accept a 10% reduction in pay if their company cared more about employee wellness. Pot smoker finds tiger after breaking into home A person who broke into an abandoned home in Houston to smoke marijuana called police after discovering a 350-pound tiger in a cage.
