Quebec’s second wave of COVID-19 cases is increasing rapidly. On Monday, Quebec reported 1,191 new cases, its highest level since May 3, and the fourth consecutive day of reporting more than 1,000 new cases. So, also on Monday, Premier François Legault finally ended his opposition to the federal government’s COVID-19 app. “If you want to make a difference and return to a more normal life, please reduce your contacts and activate the COVID app,” he said. That day, some 160,000 Canadians downloaded the app, said Marika Nadeau of the federal COVID Alert Task Force. Though the privacy restrictions built into the app mean they can’t break down those download statistics by province, she also thinks it’s likely many were from Quebec. READ MORE >> |
