| Well, good morning LSU fans. Unfortunately that wasn't a bad dream. The Tigers lost their season opener 38-27 to UCLA on Saturday night, marred by so many of the issues that affected the team throughout the disappointing 5-5 season last year. LSU had missed assignments, coverage busts on crossing routes and struggled to run the football, leaving coach Ed Orgeron to say afterward, "One game does not define a season, but we do understand that was a letdown for our fans and I take responsibility for it. We’ve got to get better.” Our main story from inside the Rose Bowl summarized the team's recurring issues and how LSU crumbled under UCLA's constant defensive pressure, which forced sophomore quarterback Max Johnson to attempt a no-look, backward pass at one point. The Tigers have a lot to fix. Our Scott Rabalais shared his thoughts on the opening dud.
