The big news, however, continues to be real estate. Dee and Tommy Hilfiger have bought not one, but two houses here this season. One to live in while they renovate the other. They also recently celebrated Tommy's birthday at Le Bilboquet with friends including Laura & Harry Slatkin, founders of Nest Fragrances. Lisa Rinna was spotted turning the indoor dining room into a pop-up discotheque and dancing up a storm. She and husband Harry Hamlin were in town to attend the Cancer Alliance benefit luncheon at The Breakers. Second to real estate, the art market continues to be a big topic, so everyone was excited to welcome James de Givenchy and see his Taffin Jewelry Collection at Sotheby's hosted by Tiffany Dubin and co-sponsored by Whispering Angel.Everyone loves James and he was also given dinners at the home of Heidi & Tom McWilliams, andanother at Swifty's Pool hostedbyInterior Designer Richard Mishaan. There, we had the pleasure of chatting with Ghislain d'Humieres, the new president of the Norton Museum; Tommy Quick, CarolMack, Caroline & Tom Dean, Olga & George Votis, Cristina Macaya and TheSlatkins, who hosted a more intimate dinner at home for James the following evening, as did Tom Quick the night after that! How very Palm Beach! Anotherart event that captured our attention was Photographer Christophe de Hohenberg's book signing at Coe & Co Gallery for his White Album of the Hamptons. A wonderful book, it is available at The Palm Beach BookStore. Speaking of photographers, everyone's talking about the book,Bill Cunningham Was There: Spring Flings and Summer Soirées, by JohnKurdewan and Steven Stolman. We attended Stolman's talk at TheSociety of the Four Arts but were sad to learn Cunningham's long time assistant, John, was unable to fly-in due to Covid. Stolman noted he was introduced to John by mutual friend Alexandra Lebenthal, who asked him to assist withthe project. Stolman told us: "Palm Beach was not on Bill Cunningham's radar, but Palm Beachers most certainly were." The book is available at The Classic Bookshop. And don't miss the Krome Drawings of artist Jose Alvarez (D.O.P.A.) at The Norton Museum until May 9th. His work has been the talk of the Palm Beach art scene over the last few months since AWondrous North Star was presented at GAVLAK in Jan/Feb. We hear "Baby Jane' Holzer is a huge fan. In addition to art and jewelry, another favorite subject of the ladies who lunch in Palm Beach is, of course, vintage hand bags, so it's not surprising that the Old Bags Luncheon at the Colony Hotel to benefit the Center for FamilyServicesof Palm Beach County was an enormous success this year. It's also polo season, so we've been out to Wellington a few times this month to attend matches at the International Polo Club with Karen Klopp, who wrote What to Wear to the International Gay Polo Tournament, and to the Grand Champions Polo Club courtesy of founder Melissa Ganzi and who hosted a virtual fashion presentation with Michael Kors in her beautiful horse stable at Santa Rita Farm, as well as the Great Futures Polo Match sponsored by the Neil S. Hirsch Boy & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County.
We also had the pleasure of visiting Nick Gold at Eau Palm Beach where we enjoyed having a much needed facial and massage by their fabulous esthetician Karlyne Belizaire using Valmont products. In honor of World Water Day on March 22nd — and through the end of May — Valmont is giving 10% of sales of their Hydra 3 EyeSerum to the One Drop Foundation which aims to ensure sustainable access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene for the most vulnerable communities. We loved meeting Wendy Hadida of DMN Paris and her co-founder Paule Yefet, who presented their uber chic and popular fashion collection— worn by Cindy Crawford and Bella Hadid — in the Solarium of The Colony Hotel. Next up a Bergdorf Goodman Pop-up at The Colony! All eyes continue to be on Palm Beach ... |
