“Grim forecast” from boss of Scotland’s busiest air terminal, Edinburgh Airport, as it gears up for new passenger record
View email online | | | | | | Feb 7, 2024 | | | | | | Dear Voornaam, With Met Office warnings covering much of the country and the prospect of snow and plunging temperatures in the coming days, thoughts may well be turning to the summer holidays. With that in mind, our Transport Correspondent Alastair Dalton has a focus on Scotland's busiest airport Edinburgh, and specifically the baggage problems which have beset it for the past two summers. He reports today on the frustration of airport management - bags are the responsibility of airlines’ handling agents - and the fears the problems may not be resolved in time for the summer. There is also positive news too, however, as the airport is ramping up spending to cope with expected record passenger numbers in 2024, followed by expansion of the departure lounge and then a major change to its layout.
