Good afternoon,

Today we have the welcome news the government has signed a deal for 60 million doses of a potential Covid-19 vaccine. It's a positive step toward avoiding another wave and if successful, priority groups like health workers would be first in line. It comes as another North West town ramps up its response with new restrictions starting immediately - Oldham has experienced a spike in cases.

As always we are also reporting all the breaking news from Lancashire. A young boy has been flown to hospital following an accident near Leyland plus Lancashire County Council announces a plan to curb Preston's pavement parking - but how could this work?

Meanwhile a Preston nightclub is reopening as a multi-use venue this weekend, circumventing the ban on nightclubs opening just yet.

And, across the border from further afield four men have been charged after a body was found in a Cumbrian river.

You can follow our live blog today for all the latest breaking news, written right here by our Lancashire-based reporters, from their homes near you!

As always, thanks for your support and have a lovely Wednesday.
