Aftermath of the Thrilla in Greenvilla

The fight that marred the end of Sunday's SEC Women's Tournament championship game continues to make waves.

Monday we learned that the brother of LSU guard Flau'jae Johnson was indeed arrested for jumping out of the stands, over the scorer's table and onto the court after Johnson was aggressively pushed over by South Carolina center Kamilla Cardoso.

Also Monday, the reactions flooded in from all over the sports world. Some of them measured, as you would expect, from SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey. Others, as you would also expect, a lot of fairly pointless shouting, like the overreaction of ESPN's Shannon Sharpe directed toward LSU coach Kim Mulkey.

Mulkey may not have put her best foot forward in basically saying Cardoso should have picked on someone more her own size, like LSU forward Angel Reese. But hey, Shannon, it wasn't Mulkey's player who shoved anyone to the court. Cardoso now is expected to be suspended for the Gamecocks' NCAA Tournament first-round game, which will be played next Friday or Saturday.

Cardoso apologized for her part in the confrontation, as did Johnson, according to South Carolina coach Dawn Staley. Hopefully, cooler heads will prevail the next time these teams play.

Just as hopefully, that will be in this year's Women's Final Four in Cleveland.

Onto other matters. The LSU softball team ran its record to 22-0 over the weekend with a sweep at Kentucky. Ranked No. 3 last week, the Tigers host No. 1 Texas at 11 a.m. at Tiger Park on Tuesday, quite obviously their biggest test yet.

Why is the game so early? Apparently the Longhorns have to get back to Austin and then on to BYU for a weekend series. Can LSU make the Longhorns pack a loss with them?

Finally, the LSU gymnastics team is getting ready for its regular-season finale Friday against North Carolina. Will that be the final home meet for senior Olivia Dunne? Well, you have to click here to see what she says about that.

That's all for now, folks.
