with Kelly P. Kissel | Metro editorSuch a grim start to the week. An autopsy was set for today for a toddler found dead in Mississippi over the weekend. The 2-year-old girl was reported missing from Baton Rouge on Friday. An arrest has been made, but not for a homicide. An update on the autopsy is here, and more background is here. In St. Francisville, several questions remain following a murder-suicide that left a domestic violence victim dead. An ankle monitor and a restraining order couldn't prevent the death of Peggy Rayburn last week, as Lea Skene outlines. And we're a month out since Hurricane Ida struck, and there are still plenty of problems around. If Ida blew down a tree in your yard, the folks at the LSU AgCenter have some good ideas for fast-growing trees to replace it. They also have tips for helping trees damaged in the storm. Get some good advice here. Thanks for checking in with us. Let's hope the rest of the week is better. |
