S.C. Supreme Court deems SAFE grants unconstitutional

The S.C. Supreme Court ruled Wednesday that Gov. Henry McMaster’s $32 million tuition grant program for private school students violates the state constitution on the grounds that the funds would be delivered directly to the schools.

Greenville Tech awarded $2.1M to assist first-time students

Greenville Technical College has been awarded nearly $2.1 million by the U.S. Department of Education’s Title III program to boost retention numbers and help students stay on track for graduation.

Judge’s ruling likely ends seismic testing off coast for years

A lawsuit filed in 2018 opposing seismic air gun surveys off the state’s coast as a precursor to oil and drilling exploration was dismissed by a federal judge, who said a deadline for permits would pass before a trial would be held.
