The Virtual Primary Reference Timing Clock (vPRTC) is a new concept for a highly secure and protected network-based timing architecture, developed to meet the expanding needs of modern critical infrastructures. The vPRTC is simple in concept blending proven timing technologies into a centralized and protected source location, and then utilizing your secure fiberoptic network with commercially available IEEE®1588 Precision Time Protocol (PTP) boundary clocks to deliver resilient and precise timing where you need it.
The vPRTC architecture is an innovative system of products as outlined below to provide resilient timing for your critical infrastructure as either the primary timing source or as a security backup to your current GNSS based timing solutions.
