A survey of 169,000 workers for Inc.'s Best Workplaces list showed the top companies offered health and dental insurance and retirement plans as baseline benefits, with added perks such wellness initiatives, flexible scheduling and paternity leave. The data showed 86% of the top 50 companies offered flexible scheduling.
Artificial intelligence and robotics technology will require HR departments to employ staffers with skills such as data presentation, predictive analytics and digital leadership, a Randstad survey shows. "Contrary to the headlines, this survey shows that automation can provide opportunities for people and vice versa," says Rebecca Henderson, CEO of Randstad Sourceright.
Kiranmai Pendyala, corporate vice president for HR at Advanced Micro Devices, says HR should embrace workforce "disruption" by using digital HR tools, meeting the needs of millennial employees and building a resilient culture. "HR has to constantly evolve to keep pace with the changing market realities and the notions of what a workplace actually is," Pendyala says.
