Dear U2 Fan,
Hard to believe but this week it's thirty years since the release of Achtung Baby, 'the sound of four men chopping down The Joshua Tree' as Bono put it.
And to celebrate this birthday of one of the band's most significant records there's a raft of special releases. This Friday, November 19th, the 30th Anniversary Edition of Achtung Baby, will see a special Standard black vinyl release, along with a Deluxe colour vinyl release, with Achtung Baby (2018 Remaster) and Achtung Baby (Unter Remixes) also available digitally on the same day.
And on December 3rd the 50-track digital box set arrives including Uber Remixes, Unter Remixes and, B-Sides with 22 tracks never before available digitally. (Complete track list here.) Pre order Achtung Baby (30th Anniversary Edition) here.
Want to visit Hansa Studios, where the album was recorded? For one week, from Friday, U2 x THIERRY NOIR makes that possible… if you can get to Berlin!
Thirty years ago, the band commissioned Thierry Noir to paint a series of Trabant cars, which featured on the album artwork, as well 1991's Zoo TV Tour. U2 x THIERRY NOIR sees Noir return with a newly painted Trabant for 2021, as well as an exclusive mural painted on a section of the Berlin wall.
From November 19th to the 26th, you can book a 30 min time slot free of charge to visit the installation at Hansa Studios between the hours of 12:00 and 20:00. In Berlin and want to visit? Read more here.
And don't miss the 30th Anniversary Achtung Baby Collection in the U2.com Store - bags, beanies & bracelets, T-shirts, bomber jackets & screen prints. And the vinyl!
Best wishes, The U2.com Team |
