International playwriting competition 2023

We invite new and established writers to submit their scripts for the 28th International Radio Playwriting Competition, hosted by BBC World Service and the British Council. The competition is only open to writers living outside of the United Kingdom and will close at midnight GMT on 12 February 2023.

Meet our new Head of Arts

We are delighted to announce that the British Council has appointed Mich Dulce as Head of Arts. Mich is a fashion designer, social entrepreneur, and long-time champion of the British Council and its work in Arts and Culture. She has previously worked with the organisation as a grantee, a partner and, most recently, a consultant for the Innovative Governance in the Creative Economy project.
