by Adam Daigle | Acadiana business editor Good morning, Acadiana business news readers. Let's get right to the headlines. First the good news on the real estate market in Lafayette Parish: It is getting slightly more affordable. The median home price in Lafayette Parish in the third quarter dropped 4% from a year ago to $215,000 while income levels rose 7%. A year ago the median home price was up 8% while income levels were up only 2%. The bad news: Like just about everywhere else in the U.S. (except Shreveport), there's still lots of ground to make up. To buy a home in the parish would require 26% of annualized wages, which is up from its historic average of 22%. Check out the story here. Thanks for reading and have a great day. |
