Mandatory COVID-19 check-ins roll out across ACT |
Canberrans now have to check in at supermarkets and while travelling on public transport. The new check in restrictions were announced to strengthen protections already in place against COVID-19, as Greater Sydney continues to battle an outbreak of the Delta variant. Under the strengthened rules, Canberrans will face an on-the-spot fine of $1,000 if they do not use the Check In CBR app on public transport, or in retail stores, taxis and ride-sharing services. |

It's been over a year since the ACT last recorded a COVID-19 case that spread locally. The ACT has had fewer cases of the virus than every other state and territory, even accounting for population size. The territory has never fully shut out New South Wales residents, many of whom commute across the border daily. So how did Canberrans do it? |

11-year-old dreams of flying high |
| It's not uncommon to see colourful hot air balloons high up in the blue skies of Canberra, especially on weekends. What is rare, though, is having an 11-year-old co-piloting the floating aircraft. Since the age of four, Hamish has woken before the sun on weekends so he can lend a hand to the Balloon Aloft team, which has been flying hot air balloons over Canberra for 30 years. |

Peter O'Dwyer, a single dad with three daughters, bought an off-the-plan townhouse in Canberra's north in 2018. But in May the developer, 3 Property Group, rescinded its contract for the Throsby property — despite having been paid a deposit. |
