In his capacity as the Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister, issued Decree No. (35) of 2024 forming the “Dubai Council”, chaired by His Highness. As per the Decree, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum serves as First Vice Chairman of the Council, and Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum serves as Second Vice Chairman of the Council.

The UAE is stepping up plans to eradicate mosquitos in the country, following periods of severe weather. The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) announced the intensification of efforts for the third phase of the Anti-Mosquito Campaign, in collaboration with the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), and in partnership with relevant local authorities across the UAE, including municipalities in different emirates.

On the real estate front, UAE real estate developer AARK has announced the launch of SORA Beach Residences. The new property. situated on the shores of Al Marjan Island, Ras Al Khaimah, is valued at AED4bn ($1.1bn).

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has called on entities to submit tax deduction forms or face fines. The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has urged entities in the Kingdom subject to tax deduction to submit forms for April by May 12, 2024.

Middle East airline traffic increased 10.8 per cent as global demand for aviation continued to increase in March, according to International Air Transport Association (IATA). IATA released data for March 2024, showing increased across the world.
