The UAE has announced paid holidays for Eid Al Adha for both the public and private sector. The dates were officially announced on June 8 by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) and the UAE Federal Authority For Government Human Resources (FAHR).

Meanwhile, the government of Dubai has appointed 22 new Chief Artificial Intelligence Officers across various government bodies. The announcement was made by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai.

In terms of new regulations, the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has announced the procedures and regulations for cases where abortion is permitted. In an X post on Saturday, the authority outlined various cases where an abortion is legal. New controls specify that requests will be evaluated by a committee comprised of three doctors including an obstetrician-gynecologist and psychiatrist, plus a prosecution representative. The committee can seek additional specialist advice.

In addition, the UAE Ministry of Economy and the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) have also introduced regulations on marketing phone calls and penalties for violations. The rules apply to all licensed companies in the UAE, including free zone firms, conducting phone marketing.

On the transportation front, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has opened a new bridge as part of a project to upgrade a major intersection. The Garn Al Sabkha-Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road Intersection Improvement Project involves building four bridges totalling 2,874 metres in length.
