The UAE will see heavy rains, strong winds, thunder and even hail next week, according to weather authorities in the country. The UAE’s National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said that the country will be affected by an unstable weather condition as a result of an extension of a low surface pressure from the southwest, accompanied by humid southeasterly winds, along with an extension of upper air pressure, accompanied by an air current from the northwest.

Meanwhile, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced updated timings for those using the Dubai Metro. The new timings began on April 6, Saturday and will last until April 13, Saturday.

In other news, OPEC says that world oil demand will see significant increases in 2024 and 2025. The Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) said on Thursday that world oil demand will rise by 2.25m barrels per day (bpd) in 2024 and by 1.85m bpd in 2025.

On the technology front, Google Photos is reportedly extending its artificial intelligence (AI)-powered editing tools, including Magic Editor and Magic Eraser, to all its users. The new tools will be rolled out from next month.

In addition, Apple is reportedly likely to soon inform its users in India and 91 other countries that they were possible victims of a “mercenary spyware” attack attempt in which someone tried to gain unlawful access to their devices.
