That said, here are five trending stories you missed over the weekend.

The UAE will send the first Emirati astronaut to the Moon and will also build a lunar space station, as part of an international scientific project, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai said via X on Sunday.

Sheikh Mohammed also announced a UAE cabinet reshuffle this weekend, and appointed Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum as the Deputy Prime Minister for Finance and Economic Affairs, UAE astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi appointed as Minister of Youth, Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak Al Shamsi appointed as Minister of Environment, Mariam Harib Al Muhairi appointed as the Head of the International Affairs Office at the Presidential Court and Mubarak Fadhel Al Mazrouei appointed as Minister of State for Defense Affairs.

In the transport sector, Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced a major contract awarded for the Improvement of Umm Suqeim Street Project, following the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

This weekend, the UAE also took action against 84 defendants, primarily associated with the notorious terrorist organisation, the Muslim Brotherhood, to combat terrorism and safeguard national security.

In terms of travel, UAE residents can now take advantage of cheap flight tickets to India, as low-cost carrier IndiGo scrapped fuel cost.
