The UAE National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a weather advisory warning of fluctuating conditions across the nation in the days ahead. A surface low pressure system is expected to linger to the south from Sunday until Monday morning, mitigating instability somewhat, WAM reported, adding that however, intermittent rainfall is anticipated, particularly in coastal and southern regions.

Meanwhile, as UAE residents head back to work after a long holiday, they can look forward to and plan more days off as a five-day holiday is expected for the upcoming Eid Al Adha, likely to fall on Monday, June 17.

On the real estate front, Ajman witnessed strong growth in March according to new figures. Official statistics show real estate transactions in Ajman totalled 1,169 in March, representing a nearly 50 percent increase compared to the same period last year. The total value of these transactions was AED1.46 billion.

In Dubai, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has awarded a contract to construct a new tunnel on Al Khaleej Street, according to a statement by the Dubai Media Office (DMO). The 1,650 metre, six-lane tunnel will run from the end of the ramp of Infinity Bridge in Deira to the intersection of Al Khaleej and Cairo Streets.

In Abu Dhabi, ADNOC recently investigated to possibility of buying British energy giant BP, according to media reports. Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) did not pursue the option, said Reuters in a report citing un-named people familiar with the matter.
