AB Espresso: Dubai ’s Al Khail road traffic to ease

Dubai’s RTA has announced major plans to ease traffic and speed up journeys on Al Khail Road. The authority has awarded a contract worth AED700m ($191m) for Al Khail Road Improvement Project.

In addition, Dubai Municipality has implemented a project to rebuild and rehabilitate the supporting walls along the Deira side of Dubai Creek, with a total expense of AED112m ($30.5m).

On the real estate front, UAE-based Eagle Hills has unveiled a $4bn real estate investment project in Bahrain. Mohamed Alabbar, Chairman of Eagle Hills International, has disclosed additional details about the Binaa Al Bahrain Company, unveiling a $4bn investment.

Meanwhile, UAE and Saudi construction costs are set to increase this year, according to a report by project management specialists, Currie and Brown. Construction costs are set to increase in the UAE by 2-3 per cent, and in Saudi Arabia by 5-7 per cent in 2024, following an increase of 3 per cent and 7 per cent respectively in 2023.

The kingdom's authorities also arrested more than 19,400 people in Saudi Arabia over the past week as it looks to stop residency, labour and security breaches. The announcement was made by the Ministry of Interior in a social media post identifying 19,431 arrests between February 15 to 21.
