AB Espresso: 50 megaprojects transforming the UAE

The UAE has outlined a series of major projects aimed at transforming the country’s landscape. These developments focus on urban planning, real estate, and infrastructure, aligning with the country’s goal of becoming one of the top three global destinations for living and working. On the real estate front, Palma Development has launched Serenia District, a new AED5 billion ($1.36 billion) residential community in Jumeirah Islands, Dubai. The Dubai real estate development spans 600,000 sq. ft. with a built-up area of 3.5 million sq. ft. and features six integrated towers. The project centres around six lifestyle zones: the Serenia Signature Clubhouse, Health and Social zone, Sports and Recreation spaces, Family Oasis, Nature Discovery zone, and a Wellness Retreat.

In other news, the UAE will see rain, very strong winds, fog, mist, blowing dust and very rough seas in the coming days. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) shared a forecast for the UAE until Saturday, March 1. It says the UAE will experience humidity and strong winds, particularly at sea.

Aside from this, a major airport in Saudi Arabia has introduced ultra-modern e-gates as it looks to boost the aviation sector in the Kingdom. Deputy Governor of Makkah Region, Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, has inaugurated the new e-gates system at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah. The system includes 70 e-gates designed to enhance travel efficiency by automating check-in and departure procedures, providing a smoother and more convenient airport experience.

In other news, Qatar has announced a major tax fine exemption as it looks to boost business growth in the country. The General Tax Authority announced the launch of a 100 per cent financial penalty exemption initiative, in a demonstration of its ongoing commitment to fostering business growth and supporting national economic policies. Effective March 1, 2025, the initiative will run for six months, subject to the applicable rules and regulations, the Authority stated.
