What an Extraordinary year it has been!

2020 – A Year of Gratitude:

For all of us, 2020 was a year we will never forget. It reminded us of the need for connection and community support.

Since 1993, World TEAM has been hosting inclusive programs. This year, amid a global pandemic, we had to transition to a virtual Face of America. This resulted into a new, ongoing series of events in which we have been able to engage new participants while maintaining that special camaraderie that has come to define each of our programs. We appreciate the commitment and dedication of our supporters as we traveled this new road. Although we would have much preferred to see everyone in person, we are thrilled to still be able to provide opportunities for connection.

2020 also saw the first LeMond World TEAM Challenge. Partnering with Greg LeMond, World TEAM Global Ambassador and three time Tour de France champion, we held our first Challenge on Strava, sharing our story of inclusivity and expanding our outreach. Stay tuned for more fun opportunities with our LeMond partnership.

We also expanded our Board and Advisory Board this fall by welcoming the following members. We are looking forward to working with our amazing leadership on new initiatives in the coming year.

Our supporters and sponsors stood by us in 2020, allowing us to continue our mission and plan for the coming year. In a year of unexpected and often daunting challenges, World TEAM has been blessed by the unwavering commitment of our sponsors and supporters. As a result, we have been able to continue to provide an impact with continued outreach to the adaptive community. We are grateful to have you all on our TEAM.

2021 – A Year of Adapting:

We are adapting. We are committed to continuing the World TEAM mission in 2021. The team and board are working to ensure we can provide safe, rewarding opportunities that include our fellow athletes living with physical and intellectual disabilities. We will be finalizing the details of our 2021 programs shortly, keeping in mind the health and safety of all of our participants while still creating the inclusive, impactful events we all missed in 2020.

In a year that has changed the way we do things – the passion and commitment of our supporters and your dedication to our mission of inclusivity remains constant. We look forward to seeing each of you in 2021.
