A year after deadly shooting, Buffalo strives for resilience
One year ago today, a man walked into an Allina Health clinic in Buffalo, Minn., shot five people and set off several explosive devices before surrendering to police.

Medical assistant Lindsay Overbay, a mother of two, was killed. Others are still dealing with physical and emotional scars.

Buffalo residents were left with shock that a mass shooting could happen in the small city of 16,000 people — and a determination to make their community stronger.

As part of the healing process, members of the community came together to start a movement called "Buffalo Strong," focused on strengthening mental health resources for each other.

“What resilience is about is how you respond to it. And our community has that in spades," says organizer Dani Palmer.

What else we're watching:
Does someone recovered from COVID have immunity for 90 days? Will we have to get another booster? Mayo Clinic preventive medicine physician Dr. Melanie Swift answered these questions and more on the COVID protection and omicron.

Furloughed, out-of-business live event industry is left out in most of COVID relief. The Live Events Coalition trade group says that 78 percent of workers in the live events industry had to be furloughed and 12 percent of businesses folded since the pandemic began. But they have been, for the most part, left out of the financial aid many others have received.

"To see someone so close to our age [killed by police], it is really nerve-wracking and heartbreaking." Hundreds of students in the Twin Cities walked out of school Tuesday, marching to the Governor's Residence in St.Paul to demand justice for Amir Locke and call for the Minneapolis mayor and MPD chief to resign.
