THANKSGIVING EVERY WAY | epicurious

Our Most Affordable Thanksgiving Feast

You’ve already heard me go on and on about how delicious turkey legs are, especially when you cook them slowly for several hours in olive oil. But here’s another reason why turkey legs are perfect for this year’s Thanksgiving: Per pound, they are, by far, the least expensive turkey option available in most supermarkets. That’s why my colleague Joe Sevier features these ghee-roasted legs in this Cheap and Thrilling Thanksgiving menu.

If money’s tight this year—and in 2020, money is tight for a lot of us—consider this menu your playbook. It features that crispy-skinned turkey, some slow-cooked squash, a classic cranberry sauce, and a refreshing-but-rich salad. (Not on the salad-at-Thanksgiving train yet? Click here.) There’s also dessert: a simple galette, which is basically the perfect dessert any day, but especially on Thanksgiving. Of course, the real sweet thing about this menu is the price: less than $10 per person.
