Meet the Forward 50

Every year we publish the Forward 50, a list of remarkable people who have had a particular impact on our communities. This year, we’re asking them to join our Editor-in-Chief, Jodi Rudoren, for “50 American Jews, 10 conversations,” a weekly series of Zoominars about …whatever is on their minds.

Join the next conversation with Alex Goldstein, CEO of 90 West and creator of the "Faces of COVID" Twitter account; Yael Eisenstat, Democracy Activist; and Kosha Dillz, Rapper and Artist.

The classic Israeli dessert you never heard of

To kick off the Jewish Arts Collaborative Boston's (JArts Boston) “Taste of Israel Restaurant Week,” join Forverts Editor Rukhl Schaechter as she makes a classic Israeli dessert: tea biscuit cake, or ugat biskvitim (עוגת ביסקויטים) as it’s known in Hebrew. It’s easy to make and you don’t even need an oven!

The baking session will be followed by a Q&A with Rukhl and Forward National & Food Editor, Rob Eshman where the two will discuss the cake’s history and relevance.

This talk is part of the Dr. Thomas Zand Forward Event Series. It will be recorded and sent to registrants.

16 over 61 awards call for submissions

We're excited to partner with the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan on their newest project, the 16 Over 61 Awards. The 16 over 61 Awards will spotlight the creativity, leadership, and initiative of sixteen adults over the age of 61 who are nominated by YOU and chosen by a committee of peers, lay leaders, and Jewish professionals.

Nominations will be accepted through February 15 and the honorees will be notified mid-March. A virtual celebration will follow, details forthcoming.
