The Lafayette City Council took the first step on Tuesday in creating a special taxing district to support the development of a Buc-ee's location along the Louisiana Avenue exit of Interstate 10. The ordinance, which was introduced at Tuesday's council meeting without debate, would create a subdistrict within an existing economic development district that could levy up to a 2% sales tax.
