Hello John,
Today, we start the holiest days of the liturgical year, the Easter Triduum. From Holy Thursday with the Institution of the Most Holy Eucharist to the Lord’s Passion on Good Friday and then to the celebration of the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday, these days are a sacred time of reflection and prayer.
In addition to the beautiful Masses and live Adoration EWTN offers this week, we want to call your attention to just a few of the specials we’ll be offering you during the Triduum. You’ll find them grouped by categories below.
We are very excited to have two live venerations this week. On Good Friday, the Crown of Thorns will be on display at the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. Almost a year after the Crown of Thorns was almost destroyed in the cathedral’s fire, the world can venerate this sacred treasure. On Holy Saturday, the Shroud of Turin will be displayed on livestream and television. The linen cloth, believed to be the burial cloth of Jesus, is the most scientifically studied historical artifact in the world. Mother Angelica had a great love for the Shroud. In fact, the first program that aired on EWTN in 1981 was a documentary on the Shroud of Turin.
