| Hear something new this weekend | We’ve made a few changes to the schedule for 2021, so you might hear something different when you tune into Radio National this weekend. If you’re into science, comedy – or both – then the highlight will be our new show The Pop Test. It’s a weekly comedy quiz show that puts scientists in a room with comedians and asks them to tackle some of the universe’s great mysteries. (What is love? Why do we die? What lighting system is most appropriate for a soccer match with snakes?) You can hear The Pop Test as part of The Weekend with Marc Fennell, a new timeslot we’ve set aside to showcase seasonal content, new podcasts and interview highlights from other RN programs. Listen in from 1pm on Saturdays. (And if you’re looking for the complete 2021 schedule, you can find it here on our website.) This weekend you’ll also be able to hear the second instalment of the 2020 Boyer Lectures, presented by Andrew Forrest. Dr Forrest, who recently completed a PhD in marine ecology, says the problems of deoxygenation, overfishing and plastic pollution are our fault – so it’s us who must fix them. Until next time, Rosie Ryan, digital editor Enjoy getting Radio National in your inbox? Forward to a friend so they can too! | |
