December 10, 2024

Good morning. For all of us afflicted with holiday shopping procrastination, Hyperallergic’s staff have art-filled antidotes. At the fifth edition of Press Play, a fair of books, zines, and more held in Brooklyn’s Pioneer Works this weekend, Associate Editor Lakshmi Rivera Amin discovered “ideas, thoughts, and wishes you can touch and hold.” And Staff Reporter Maya Pontone visited the inaugural edition of the Eenda-Lunaapeewahkiing Indigenous Culture Fair, a Lenape craft market in Prospect Park where she learned to make dolls out of dried corn husks and even crossed a few gifts off her Christmas list.

A reminder that tonight is our Hyperallergic Town Hall, an online event where you’ll get to meet our staff, hear about our work, and see both new and familiar faces that make up our growing member community. It’s not too late to become a member and join us here.

More below — from a glimpse inside the newly reopened Notre Dame Cathedral (complete with designer clergy fits) to a comic artist’s new book answering readers’ burning questions.
