We all need a break once in awhile. Certainly a break in the schedule couldn't have come at a better time for the LSU men's basketball team. The Tigers had some nice momentum going with a 3-1 start in SEC play. But troubles they say come in threes, and three straight losses have come to reverse that momentum, dropping LSU to 11-9 and 3-4 in the SEC. The Tigers don't have a midweek game, off until Saturday when they host Arkansas at the PMAC (11 a.m., ESPN2). A good time for a break, perhaps, for there is much work to do. “We’ve got to get a lot better this week,” LSU coach Matt McMahon said. “We have to take advantage of this bye to figure out some things from a defensive standpoint, from some offensive execution, and really play more like a team and in some of those tough moments right there.” The LSU women's basketball team is also off until it's next game Sunday at home against Florida (1 p.m., SEC Network). What is ailing the Tigers? What about Caitlin Clark's so-called assault on Pete Maravich's scoring record? What about these latest NCAA lawsuits? I give it a good once over in my column, which it just so happens you can find a link to right here. Thanks as always for reading and subscribing and being here for us. We're here for you, every day, covering the Tigers more closely than anyone out there. Until next time, Scott Rabalais |
