Good evening The capacity for sport to give us all a boost is amazing. A few weeks ago it was the England football team grabbing the headlines and making us feel - just for a moment - that ‘55 years of hurt’ might be coming to an end. Of course, that’s not how it turned out and there was the usual penalty shoot-out drama, but at least we all know every word to Neil Diamond’s Sweet Caroline, so things are not all bad. This month it’s the Olympics which is putting a smile back on our faces. At the time of writing, Adam Peaty, Tom Daley, Matty Lee and Tom Pidcock are all celebrating winning gold medals for Team GB. All were incredible performances and even more so given the conditions they have had to train under. And after the near 18 months we have all had, it was wonderful to see Tom Daley in particular pick up a gold. After 13 years, four Games and two bronzes, he finally has the gold that he had dreamed of. So let that be a lesson to us all to never give up on our hopes. Whatever the obstacles in front of us every day.
