Hello, Royal Watchers,
Quick heads-up: next week, this newsletter will arrive in your inboxes on Wednesday, Dec. 23, and it will be the last one of the year. You can look forward to its return in January!
Now, back to some royal breaking news: a paparazzi agency has agreed to never photograph the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and their son, Archie, again, in a settlement that was reached this week, The Guardian reports.
This came on the heels of a lawsuit brought by Harry and Meghan, after a photographer for Splash News and Picture Agency took photos of the duchess and her son while the two were out for a walk in a park on Vancouver Island.
"This settlement is a clear signal that unlawful, invasive, and intrusive paparazzi behaviour will not be tolerated, and that the couple takes these matters seriously — just as any family would," a spokesperson for Harry and Meghan’s law firm Schillings told ET Canada.
The duchess' solicitor told the court “the taking of the photographs constituted an unlawful invasion of privacy" and added the photos were taken "on a private family outing in a remote rural setting and there was no public interest in the photographs.”
What do you think of this settlement? Do the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have the right to expect privacy when they're out in the public on private outings? Send us an email to let us know your thoughts!
Until next week, Royal Watchers 👑👑 |

For better or worse, we've been spending a lot more time on Instagram, as has the Royal Family. But which royal account has racked up the most likes?
Twitter account Gert's Royals rounded up the top nine royal Instagram posts of the year from the family's three accounts: @TheRoyalFamily, @KensingtonRoyal and @ClarenceHouse. We're not surprised the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge earned the most "likes," with their top post getting 2.4 million!
The very-well liked post in question features a photo of Prince William and his and Catherine's three children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, sitting on top of each other on a swing. The reason Kate's not in the pic? She's the photographer!
