As most of you know, I have personally spent my last 25 months at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, as I continue to battle health problems. I am currently being treated for cancer and other issues associated with diabetes and have lost a leg. However, I am encouraged that I will soon be headed home! My wife Sandy and I have seen the sadness of all types of transplant patients here at the Mayo Clinic.....many are unable to purchase or receive anti-rejection medications necessary for their quality of life. I feel blessed to be able to receive my treatments and want to help to fund those who are less fortunate. We are starting off "MAYO May" at Wildwood Green with a $5,000 donation towards cancer research and funding anti-rejection medications to those who can't afford it. We encourage you to donate any amount to support this fundraiser and thank you in advance! -Roger & Sandy Watson For the entire month of May, we will be running a fund raiser for the Mayo Clinic to help transplant patients who cannot afford to purchase their anti-rejection medications and for those who need financial assistance after their insurance no longer covers them. Wildwood will donate $1 per round of golf played in May and will accept donations from members. Any donations can be tax deductible and all checks should be made out to Wildwood Green Golf Club with the memo "Mayo Clinic". For more info on this fundraiser, follow this link here. Let's do our part to give back to those less fortunate than us! See a member of the golf shop staff today to learn more and donate! |
