Good evening, The pandemic is closing in again and we live in a world of uncertainty but one thing is for sure - Christmas will still be expensive. As always it's the hype that makes it so - and makes this time of year extremely hard for those simply trying to survive. There is a vast amount of work going on via the local food banks but as one footballer has pointed out - Christmas dinner need not break the bank. After all, it’s just dinner. Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford has said a £10 menu created by chef Tom Kerridge will help people wake up ‘happy’ on Christmas morning. The footballer, who was made an MBE for his food poverty campaigning, tasked Kerridge to create the menu due to his own memories of visiting the local food bank on Christmas morning. He said he wanted families to create something special “together”. The Christmas dinner will feed up to six people, with any leftovers being used for the hash on Boxing Day. It really makes you think about where our money goes at Christmas. Regards, Nicola [email protected] | |
