Hello reader,

Welcome to my monthly newsletter.

So we are back in lockdown once again. In some ways it will not be a huge difference to many of us here in Lancashire, given that we were already under Tier 3 restrictions, but even so, it has curtailed our lives even further.

Just in case you are in any doubt about what you can and can't do now, here is a handy guide which might help.

It was sad to report on the death of Preston's famous potato man Keith Roberts but last week his friend Tony Nelson carried on his legacy by re-opening the van on the Flag Market. We wish you the very best of luck, Tony.

Some of the stories we need to report do appear to be a bit gloomy, but there are plenty which warm your heart too. Not least the amazing work being done by the Sue Ryder charity, which has moved its base to Fulwood and is helping people to transform their lives.

If you fancy a bit of nostalgia - and who doesn't - you might enjoy this stroll down Memory Lane. These pictures from our archives show what life was like in 1985....when Feargal Sharkey (A Good Heart) and Jennifer Rush (The Power of Love) were fighting it out for the top spot in the charts. Happy day!

If you want some practical advice on the things that really matter, here is our guide to the best face-coverings. Now, who thought that would have been a Thing this time last year?

And finally, if your Lottery numbers come up this week, you might want to consider a move to this rather luxurious home....I'll keep my fingers crossed for you all!

Until next time,

Stay safe,

Gillian
