Be swept away by Swan Lake at the Royal Albert Hall
Look what's gliding into the Royal Albert Hall later this spring... From Wednesday 12 June to Sunday 23 June, the venue's historic auditorium is transformed into a magical lake, for what is arguably the most iconic ballet of them all.
This isn't just any old production of Swan Lake, either. Created for English National Ballet by Derek Deane, it received critical acclaim when it premiered back in 1997. Since then, it's been seen by over half a million people, enthralling audiences with its spectacle of 60 ballerina swans, white tutus shimmering as they move in unison across the stage.
Now, it's returning to the uniquely intimate setting of the round. Immerse yourself in this tragic tale of true love and betrayal, exquisitely brought to life by English National Ballet via a cast of 120 dancers and an 80-piece orchestra performing Tchaikovsky's sublime score. Read on for a bit of behind-the-scenes trivia, and be sure to snap up tickets while you can! |
