| a joyous Christmas season |

The highlight of the past 10 months was an outing I took with the hubby today, to leave gifts of cookies on the doorsteps of neighbors and friends here in Colorado Springs. Being able to see someone from a safe distance, all safely masked, was an unexpected joy, and I'm more convinced than ever that next Christmas, we're in for some big holiday reunion parties.
This year is almost over, thank goodness, and I have so much to be thankful for. Most of all, I'm thankful to each of you who has encouraged me in this crazy art life, whether student, collector, or friend. It's funny how one kind word can really lift your spirits, and a smidgen of encouragement is sometimes all it takes to give you the momentum to keep trying, when it seems the whole word is pushing you backward.
It still seems miraculous to wake each day to this dream job, teaching students online full-time, and loving every moment of the journey. Decades in corporate America taught me to never, ever, take this life for granted. I hope the New Year ahead gives you joy. For all who are on this creative path, never forget that you are an artist in the truest sense of the word. May your journey ahead be bright, and your life be filled with color.

The older I get, the more important everyday moments matter. With all the craziness going on around us, I find solace in daily rituals, even the small ones such as the first cup of tea in the morning, scratching a bossy pug's ears, and contemplating how lucky I am to be an artist (with a studio that is home-based, for sure!).
Work here in the flower factory is still ticking, and my awesome art team still meets on Zoom every month like clockwork. When I quit my corporate job as the director of a national magazine to become a full time artist and art teacher, I never dreamed how much things would change. One morning I had an epiphany: Life is too short not to follow your bliss.
In the past year, I've worked with Disney and painted on national TV! Every day I wake up and my heart surges with happiness. Yes I am an artist. Yes, this is what I do for a living. Yes, I am a lucky girl. Thank you to each of you who have walked with me on this path. Whatever your tomorrow brings, may it be filled with color!
