| | | | Faster than house, slower than EDM In today's Women's History Month-oriented newsletter note, I wanted to highlight TT The Artist, a rapper, singer, content creator, songwriter and filmmaker from Baltimore. Her music blends hip-hop, EDM and Baltimore club music, and she's known for her high-energy, club-oriented style. TT The Artist is also a filmmaker and has directed several short films, music videos and documentaries — including the award-winning "Dark City: Beneath the Beat," which explores the Baltimore club music scene. Her art and activism aim to uplift and empower marginalized communities. Baltimore club music has gained popularity on TikTok and Instagram through dance videos, introducing many people to this genre. This spring, Red Bull Dance will hold its USA qualifiers in Baltimore, featuring an all-styles dance competition paying tribute to Baltimore club music. The competition will include a tribute by TSU Terry, one of the city's favorite club dancers who the Mayor's Office recently recognized for showcasing Baltimore's culture positively on a global scale.
