Pleading: A woman called 911 last month to report that an unconscious woman was being raped on a street in the French Quarter. As she describes the attack to the operator and her attempts to get police officers to respond, the woman becomes increasingly frustrated. “He’s still not even coming!” she tells the operator at one point. Listen to the 911 call. About those raises . . . New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell wants to give across-the-board raises the city workers. But under her $39 million plan, hundreds of now-unfilled city jobs would be eliminated, and that’s prompted some grumbling. Pursuing trivia: Think you know trivia?
