Good morning, and welcome to the Saints Insider newsletter for Tuesday, April 18. In case you missed it, our columnist Jeff Duncan took some time recently to look back at what has been an incredibly frustrating period for fans of the two New Orleans professional sports teams. Duncan's column is worth a read, as he dives into one of the more pressing issues both the Saints and Pelicans are facing. Monday, we put together a timeline of events supporting Duncan's column. Let's just tee it up by saying this isn't a great look for either of the city's two pro sports teams. In the meantime, we're left wondering when, or if, some of the stars will return to form. Receiver Michael Thomas offered a quick glimpse of where he's at in his recovery, and while social media posts don't often paint a complete picture, he at least looks strong. The Falcons, by the way, can't stop pulling from the Saints ranks. First it was their general manager (Terry Fontenot), then it was their defensive coordinator (Ryan Nielsen), and Monday they signed their third former Saint of the off-season. That's all we've got for now. Stay tuned this week while we ramp up our draft coverage. Cheers, Luke Johnson |
