Featured Program Lunar New Year Family Celebration Saturday, February 10, 11:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. Smithsonian American Art Museum 8th and G Streets NW Kogod Courtyard Free | Registration encouraged Celebrate the Year of the Dragon with SAAM! Join us for our annual celebration showcasing the ways different Asian cultures ring in the Lunar New Year. Attendees will enjoy dance and music performances, crafts, traditional Chinese and Korean art demonstrations, photo booths, face painting (for children 12 and under, while supplies last), family-friendly activities, and the showstopping lion dance. The Courtyard Café will also offer special holiday treats to celebrate the occasion. This program is presented in partnership with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the United States of America and with the Korean Cultural Center, Washington, DC. |

| Virtual Beyond the Studio: Embroidery with Nichole Sorhaindo Sunday, February 4, 1 – 2 p.m. EST Online via Zoom $15 | Registration requiredLearn the basics of embroidery with DC-based artist Nichole Sorhaindo of The Other Cat Creations to create your own work of art. A health equity professional by day and craft DIY-er by night, Sorhaindo views creating as an opportunity for meditation and stress relief. Her work has been featured in DCist, The Washington Post, and Shop Made in DC. Tickets include the cost of materials needed for the activity, instructions, and postage.
