CANDIDACY IN QUESTION? New Orleans City Council member Jared Brossett is facing another DWI allegation after police found him asleep in his vehicle at a convenience store early Monday morning, and police say he failed a field sobriety test. It was Brossett's third DWI arrest and the second since June 2020, when he crashed a city-owned vehicle into another while driving in the wrong lane on Esplanade Avenue. Brossett is running for an at-large City Council seat in next month's election, and the arrest has cast doubt on his political future.
