Your Friday evening update from the Lancashire Post
View email online | | | | | Feb 4, 2022 | | | | | | Good evening, Sometimes it’s the simple things in life which make it worthwhile. And you get to realise these things when you have spent the best part of two years staying away from busy places and events and seeing friends and loved ones much less frequently. A Saturday mooching round the shops with the other half, meeting a pal for lunch or going to a football match now feels like a treat on the level of a weekend in Paris. Remember when we were in lockdown, not only was there no sport to watch live - there wasn't even any on TV for months. How times have changed. This weekend is one of the biggest of the year for armchair devotees of all kinds of sports. There is the Winter Olympics - and whatever you think of the choice of venue, we’ll all be cheering on those curling champs for the next few weeks - then there is the Six Nations Rugby tournament, plus it’s the Fourth Round of the FA Cup...and we are just days away from the Super League season starting. So before you are tempted to say ‘There is far too much sport on TV’ think back a couple of years...and just be grateful! Until next time, take care, Gillian [email protected] | |
